Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas and flavours of raspberry, blueberry, anise, pepper and a hint of chocolate. The entry is soft with smooth and complete fine-grained tannins and a pleasing acidity which leads to a lengthy finish.
Vineyard Notes
March and April were cooler than normal - the weather shifted in late April when temperatures rose to seasonal averages, accelerating bud break to historical norms. May and June continued to be warmer than usual, but temperatures decreased in July. September was challenging - it was wetter than normal making it difficult to establish pick dates and causing fragile grapes with signs of botrytis. We quickly harvested susceptible varietials before the disease could affect the quality. Overall, while a challenging vintage, the quality of the 2019 wines are wonderful and, in many cases, exceptional!
Production Notes
A blend of primarily Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon with some Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Talon is made from various blocks located in the southern Okanagan. The lots were vinified and aged separately for a period of 18 months in predominately French oak barrels prior to final blending and bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
Try our Talon with grilled lamb, grilled eggplant and barbecued pork. This wine is also a great match with hard cheeses like Gouda.
Other Notes
Serving temp: 16-18 C

I wanted a wine you can't get in Ontario. This wine was recommended. I am a lover of full bodied wines. This is perhaps one of the best I have tasted. Sadly I only bought one bottle.

Talon is full bodied with a long finish, the color is intense, deep ruby - almost black. This is my go-to favorite red and it drinks way bigger than the price!

I was travelling in the Osoyoos region a couple years ago and had the great fortune to visit the Nk’mip winery. Sadly I only bought 1 bottle of the 2015 Talon - which I put aside and just opened recently. I will be ordering more online to enjoy at home in Ontario. This wine is spectacular!!

This wine is Devine! Sadly, we are in Ontario and cannot get it here but, I can't wait to head out West as this winery is number one on my list.

This is without a doubt my favourite wine. So easy on the palate. I have yet to share this wine with anyone that does not enjoy it. It is one of the reaons I joined this wine club as you cannot get it anywhere else.
