Inniskillin is Canada’s Original Estate Winery – with wineries located in both Niagara on the Lake Ontario and the Okanagan Valley. Inniskillin Okanagan is situated in one of the most premium grape growing regions in the Okanagan Valley. It is located on the western slope of the Southern Okanagan Valley, north of Osoyoos Lake in the Golden Mile. The unique mesoclimate (or site climate) at the Dark Horse Vineyard is one of the warmest in Canada, boasts the country’s lowest recorded rainfall (250mm) and is Canada’s only semi-arid desert. Intense sunlight ripens the grapes to full maturity while cool nights help to retain acidity – allowing the winery to produce styles of wine that are uncommon for the region such as Zinfandel, Malbec and Pinotage.
