Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine elegantly balances bold ripe notes of tangerine, apricot, and
honeysuckle with a rich mouthfeel. You'll find tangerine, and apricot on the
palate with a delicate balance of acidity and sweetness.
Vineyard Notes
One of the coldest winters we’ve experienced in years gave way to a cool, wet
spring. Compared to typical years, berry development was delayed by a few
weeks. This, coupled with the hot, dry summer resulted in smaller and more
concentrated grapes. Fall weather cooled down quickly, but our vineyard crew
was able to bring in our fruit prior to any risk of frost. Overall, expect delicate
red wines with concentrated flavours and lively, aromatic whites.
Winemaker Notes
One of our later picked white varietals, this wine hails from our Bullpine
Vineyard in South Oliver. On October 11th, we harvested and began
fermenting. A portion of the wine was transfered into neutral barrels to finish
fermentation in order to develop a round mouthfeel to go with the ripe, bold
flavours of a very ripe Viognier.
Food Pairing Notes
Try it with tangerine and walnut salad with feta cheese and a blood orange
vinaigrette, veal fillet with an apricot compote, chicken and apricot terrine, or
turkey breast and mashed potatoes.
Cheese: Baked Brie with dried apricot, farmer's cheese, Pecorino Marzolino
