2013 SunRock Vineyard Illumina
Huge aromas of blackberry, cassis, plum, and dark cherry which are blended with nice smoky vanilla and mocha notes. The palate is a blend of lush dark fruits and supple oak-derived vanilla and mocha. The acidity is well balanced with fruit sweetness on the long extended finish.
DOUBLE GOLD - SAN FRANCISCO 2016
The growing season was a few weeks ahead of schedule with an earlier start for bud break. The summer was nice and hot which allowed for steady sugar accumulation in the grapes. The later part of summer and early fall brought slightly cooler temperatures, which allowed the flavour development to catch up to the sugar levels. The red wine grapes were allowed to hang longer on the vines in order to further the development of both flavors and tannins. This extra hang time helped develop both complex and intense fruit flavors as well as full, lush tannins.
The Zinfandel and Shiraz were both harvested at peak ripeness and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The wine was pumped over twice daily for 12 days for flavour and colour extraction and was then placed into barrels to undergo Malolactic fermentation. The varietals were aged separately for 12-14 months in a blend of French and American oak barrels, blended and allowed to mingle together for 2-3 months in stainless steel before being bottled. 75% Zinfandel, 25% Shiraz
Food Pairing Notes
Barbecued steak with a smoky char pairs perfectly with this wine, as will lamb, venison and game birds. Accompany a dish with a fruit-based sauce or marinade for pure heaven.

One of the best mid sized wines available from okanagan. Sharp but silky with fruit senses.
