2013 Black Sage Vineyard Shiraz
This 100% Shiraz opens with aromas of black crushed pepper, dark cherries, cassis, and vanilla. The palate is lively with dark berry and cherry flavours layered with mocha, vanilla, and a hint of white pepper. Soft tannins are supported with a long finish of dark chocolate and cherries.

The grapes were picked in late October, crushed, destemmed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The juice was pumped over twice daily for two weeks and was then transferred into oak barrels and allowed to go through malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged for 14 months in 65% American and 35% French oak, with about 20% of the barrels being new.
